Studio Portraits Cambridgeshire - Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your Studio?
We are based in Harding Way, St Ives, Cambridgeshire - St Ives is just off the A14 so very accessible from both Cambridge and Peterborough and just outside the town centre. Harding Way is near to Tesco, BP and M&S.
We are perfectly located, easy to find and the best bit we have our own car park right outside our front door - no hike up a High Street with the kids through a busy town centre (especially if it's raining)
Can we pop in to view your work and book a session?
Many people just pop in although if you are coming from further afield please ring ahead and let us know you are coming so that we can agree a best time.
How long will our session last?
Timings are very much controlled by your group size and the number of photo combinations you would like. Family sessions usually last around 1 hour. Sessions for individuals and couples are usually 30 minutes to an hour. We won’t rush you and will give your children the chance to settle in to our studio and have some fun.
What do we wear?
Colours and styles that complement each other look lovely in photos. You may wish to consider a colour theme i.e. everyone wearing a shade of blue, everyone having something red, all girls one colour and all boys another or you may all decide to dress in a similar style i.e. all in jeans, all casual or even all smart. You are not limited to one outfit so please bring others if you would like. We have a changing room. We recommend you avoid wearing stripes and as a rule large logos can date your photos very quickly.
What can we bring with us?
You are welcome to bring in props with you, such as a football, special teddy, musical instruments – any items that reflect your family.
Can our pets join us?
Yes! Pets are part of your family so you are welcome to bring them in too. Please let us know in advance and remember to bring treats as it makes it so much easier to hold their attention if we have something they like on hand.
When can I see the photos from our session?
We believe you will relax more for your session once you see how good you look so we offer sneak peeks of the back of the camera with a few images as we go. After your session we will arrange a time and date for you to return (approximately 1 week later) to our studio to view your images. Once here simply choose your favourite images and let us know what you would like.
Is everything you do in Studio or can we book a portrait session on location?
If you love the great outdoors why not book a location session - we offer both studio and location sessions.
Do you edit our photos?
Jon personally edits every image we deliver to you using a range of professional software tools.
What if our children do not play ball on the day?
All children sometimes have off days or simply do not always want to participate. This is nothing unique to them - and unlikely to be something we haven't seen before . You will be surprised at what we capture once we get them going. Don't get upset with them, some really settle into it and produce some great results and if necessary we can always rebook the session on another day if all else fails.
What if someone is unwell?
If, on the day, one of you is full of cold or feeling unwell please contact us to rebook your session. We would much rather capture your beautiful moments when you are all able to have fun and are at your best.
How much does it cost?
We all know stories of Studios with hard sell sales tactics and bad reputations - now thankfully most of these have gone. Photography is a service industry and we are here to offer help and advise you, our customers, as well as provide great images of you and your family. Some of our clients come in with an idea they would like something to fill a space on their wall whether that be a new piece of Wall Art or prints for an existing frame. Some come in with ideas for calendars, cards or just for a great selection of images of their family just because it is important to them. We offer all of this and more.
We offer loose prints and print packages - most who would like prints choose our print packages (as they offer better value) - these start from £125
Something for the wall - Frames, multi frames, canvas wraps and other beautiful wall art is priced subject to size - our Studio is filled with a lovely range with both larger and smaller options available - prices from £176.
If you would like a combination - a beautiful piece of Wall Art, prints and USB we have 4 fab Wall Art Collections for you to choose from.
Something to consider: We develop a relationship with our customers and many come back to us over and over again because of our friendly service and delivery.
We look forward to hearing from you shortly and meeting you and your family very soon.
