Wedding Photography

Bride and groom by the river

Love an experienced, friendly, qualified Wedding Photographer with you on your wedding day?

Wedding photography isn't just taking photos, although I think you will agree that it is very important, it's the ability to read those moments in your day, to become immersed in every part of the experience so that you are instinctively ready in the moment to capture a smile, a laugh, a look, a shared glance aligned with the knowledge and understanding of cameracraft to ensure every image is captured perfectly for you to treasure.

Planning a wedding can be both exciting and also daunting, with so many choices to make your day perfect ~ from the initial meeting to establish our rapport through to delivery of your wedding album I want you to feel that you are in reliable, experienced, caring hands.  If you are nervous about your Wedding photography, camera shy or feeling a little uncomfortable about spending your wedding day in front of a camera (this is very common ~ getting married is not something you do everyday) I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon to help you plan, relax and enjoy your day.

"Jon made us feel so relaxed on our special day, he knew how to organise everyone in a calm and polite manner.  He asked us what we wanted on our day and offers a great opportunity to see how he works by including a pre-wedding photoshoot. The quality of the pictures he takes are amazing, I couldn't be happier, Jon captures everything. I'd highly recommend him for your special day.  Charlotte and Tim Haddow

Offering you

A pre-wedding photoshoot ~ once booked, we have our pre-wedding meeting and photos to look forward to (it’s fun and gives you a real feel for what we can do together on your day).  A little session to help you relax and calm your nerves.  You will find that in producing your beautiful images I do direct (a little) while we walk and talk ~ a little movement here and there (a twist of your body, a lean of your head or maybe a hand) making sure you look the loving couple (removing space and distractions between you) and of course you look your very best.  We discuss how to stand, what to do with hands and all the little things that are on your mind ~ it still makes me smile to see couples automatically move into one or more stances on their day without my even asking because they have seen the results and know how it will look from this session.  We will also discuss little tips and tricks that will spring to mind to ensure you feel relaxed and confident on your day.

Planning the day to ensure all of the elements come together with ease is part of my role, understanding your timings so that everything runs smoothly.  Like communicating with your venue and caterers to ensure that you are in the right place at the right time takes the pressure off you as well as the occasional mishaps like taking the bridesmaids to the church when the second car is held up or driving the bride to a local pub when we discovered on arrival that the church had no loo. How many button holes have I pinned over the years ~ for you it's something new.

The choice of either me or two experienced, enthusiastic photographers; that’s me and another carefully chosen photographer.

I am often asked why I don’t always work with a second photographer.  I am confident and have repeatedly proven that I can deliver for you a wonderful set of images, communicate with your guests and arrange any lighting whilst working directly with you both without needing another photographer to rely on.  For me the main reasons to need a second photographer are if you would like photographs at two different locations (getting ready miles apart at the same time) or you would like photographs from multiple angles throughout your day.  If you have booked a beautiful venue and you are both getting ready in different parts of the same building we can easily work out timings to ensure you both receive equal coverage before your ceremony or if you prefer I can arrange a second photographer for you.  One requires me to run around a little more on your day than the other.

Courteously working with the wedding officials whether in a church, function room in a hotel, college building or registry office I talk to the officials and establish what they are happy for me to do and then provide your photography in a respectful and unobtrusive manner.

Weddings are a fantastic social occasion so I wont get in the way of your celebrating with your family and friends.  The majority of your day is relaxed and I am unobtrusively moving around with either a long lens or a short lens capturing the details and everything that is happening around you.  These candid images will fill your album as they form part of the story of your day.  I also provide you with a great selection of family groups and your romantic couple shots as well as the opportunity doe specialist lighting for your evening couple portraits.  I usually try to time these in the lull between the end of your meal and your evening guests arriving and they regularly form the double page spreads in your album and the feature images from your day.

Choose how long you would like your coverage ~ I can be with you until you sit down for your wedding breakfast, speeches or just after your first dance when the party gets started and the lights go down ~ it’s up to you how long I stay but know I will cover your day professionally, enthusiastically and with creativity, communicating with you throughout to ensure you receive everything you desire from your day.

Same sex weddings are fabulous occasions whether suited and booted or two long flowing dresses often brings a fun dynamic, whilst I do not profess (as many photographers do) to being a same sex specialist I can pose and direct if you would like ~ my wedding photography is about you and your love for each other and my creativity to provide you with stunning images.

Once your wedding is over and your honeymoon complete I will invite you over for a private viewing of your wedding images (we arrange a convenient date in advance of your wedding) so that you can see all of you wedding images in advance of all of your family and friends.  A great opportunity to reminisce and laugh about all of the wonderful things that happened on your day.  It is also an opportunity for you to start choosing your favourite images although there is no rush as once you have confirmed you are happy I will upload your images to your secure on-line gallery for you, your family and friends to view your images again and again.

Love the touch and feel of quality?

Everything I offer is individually chosen for quality, ensuring your wedding images will look and feel stunning for you now and always ~ with love and care they will one day become a family heirloom, a wonderful way for you to treasure those memories and share them with your children and grandchildren ~ a doorway through time to show them all the joy and love of your Wedding day.  I offer a range of luxury British and also Italian handcrafted Wedding Albums with amazing quality printed paper (with smaller versions available for family and friends) as well as Wall Art ~ Framed Prints, Multi-frames, Acrylics, Edge and Mosaics ~ perfect for creating a stunning feature display in your home.  Alternatively if you would like all of your digital images on USB and your favourite Wedding images (frame ready) professionally printed and mounted I have a luxury Memory Box available in either faux leather or wood finish ~ a great option if you would like to display your favourite wedding images all around your home.

Giving you peace of mind

Having a qualified photographer with you on your special day means that you can rest assured that your Wedding Photography is in safe hands.  I have been awarded a prestigious Licentiateship in Photography LSWPP by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers ~ an industry recognised mark of quality judged by some of the most experienced photographers in the UK.  I am currently one of only a small number of photographers in Cambridgeshire to hold this award.

Working together

Trusting your wedding photographer and being comfortable with them (as we will be together most, if not all, of your wedding day) are both very important factors when deciding who to choose for your day.  One comment I hear again and again is how other guests thought I was a guest.  My unobtrusive style and easy manner mean that your wedding day is about you and your family and friends rather than about your wedding photographer.

Protecting our Environment for the future

There has rarely been a wedding I have attended where we haven't raised a glass for those who can not be with us or children haven't been a major feature of the day.
For those who are keen to offset their carbon footprint you can arrange for trees to be planted by the National Trust in specially designated areas and dedicated to those you love (not a specific tree) but a lovely way to remember someone special or to teach your children about protecting our environment.  If you would like to plant trees and have someone special you would like to dedicate (you will receive a certificate) please let me know.

"Thank you again the pictures were fantastic and we are very happy with them.  The fact that the viewing of each photo can conjure up an image and emotion taking you back to the day is incredible and a testament to your job.  You were fantastic and we are very happy that you could be a part of our day with us.  Thank you once again for capturing our special day in such a fantastic manner."  Louis and Charlotte Rossi

"I have been an amateur photographer myself for some years so when it came to picking a photographer for our wedding I had something of a discerning eye.  Jon's portfolio immediately struck me as being a great balance of professional and artistic yet natural shots and after meeting him to discuss options we both immediately felt comfortable with him.  On the day Jon was fantastic, unobtrusive but highly efficient and great with all our guests, as well as having some excellent ideas for memorable photos.  The results speak for themselves, we are both thrilled with the photos Jon has produced for us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone."
